PROJECT OVERVIEW

I am only ever/passing through is an experimental risograph book, exploring themes of impermanence, identity, and how to make a temporary place feel like home. It is composed of a collection of belongings I’ve carried with me from home to home, including postcards and polaroids I hung on my bedroom wall as a teenager, a childhood photo, and the floral pattern on the comforter I inherited from my grandmother.

Made up of a total of three risograph “masters” (different colors on the printer) and a variety of different papers, each page is unique despite being composed of a combination of the same three elements. Over the course of the book, the images impose themselves on top of an empty room before fading away.
